The Big Move OR Living Like a Nomad

Week three in Big Stone Gap Well, like many of you, we have transitioned from the beautiful fall colors to white. Fortunately where we are it doesn’t normally get the amount of snow that we are used to seeing.  We spent some time his past week exploring the town. The once empty store fronts are now filled with shops and restaurants. We have arrived to the beauty of Big Stone Gap, VA  known for it’s southern charm, home of the outdoor drama “Trail of the Lonesome Pine” and a series of novels by Adriana Trigiani and featured in the 2014 movie “Big Stone Gap” which was filmed on location and The Blue Highway Fest .(And also home to family members).  We will be exploring the town more this week and see what we can get into. A bitter sweet week.  I don’t really like the idea of saying good-bye, I am much more comfortable  with “see ya later”.  This will always be home and we plan to come back and visit.  Church was hard this past week, particularly for Bobby as he has been a member of the Praise team for the last ten years and they have developed a special bond.    We have both had a chance this week to meet up with a few friends and had some unplanned bump into someone that we hadn’t seen for awhile moments.  We made visits to our past on loved ones at the cemeteries. We took advantage of early voting. We shopped and stocked our small shelves and fridge with the necessities we will need. Bought the dogs new treats and blankets….I think we are ready.
