Week three in Big Stone Gap
Well, like many of you, we have transitioned from the beautiful fall colors to white. Fortunately where we are it doesn’t normally get the amount of snow that we are used to seeing.
We spent some time his past week exploring the town. The once empty store fronts are now filled with shops and restaurants. ( We found one that has called for repeat visits 😋 )
It is really a great little town that includes a couple of breweries, coal fired pizza and live music in several places on Friday and Saturday nights.
.
A few days ago my very dear friend and husband, Cindy and Bob McGraw, drove to Big Stone to visit with us! Cindy and I have been friends for sixty years! She reminded me that as kids her brother was in the same grade with me in elementary school and she was a year younger. The two of them were invited to my eighth birthday party and that is where it began. What a special thing to have a friend in your life for all of these years and what a special time with them! Looking forward to having them visit in WA.
Another highlight of our visit was going to Pikeville to watch my great-nephew play basketball. He attends and plays for Pikeville University. We always watch his games over the internet but how much fun to be there, He is an amazing player and it was a very exciting game! We are all very proud of him.
Well, that’s all of the excitement coming from our way, so until next time…
Wishing all of friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!
