Winter Surprise(s) at the Beach




 
What?? Snow at our winter escape? We certainly were surprised to wake up to this winter wonderland a few weeks ago!  I am sure there were those that live here or have come for the warm weather probably weren’t happy, but I absolutely loved it! What a cool thing to experience, it was pretty amazing sight.   It didn’t last long and are back to  nicer weather. 

The past month brought some other surprises in the form of friends and family.  Our friends Tommy and Cheri drove down from Raleigh for a few days. They checked into a cute little beach house right at the end of our street here in the RV park. We had a great visit, played “joker” our favorite board game when we get together, hung out on the boardwalk, Broadway on the Beach, art gallery, played miniature golf (Cheri was the winner) and ate some great food and even got to play Juke Box Bingo at one of the restaurants. We had a lot of fun!

                                                                      
Also this past week Bobby’s cousin Joetta and husband Tim were here and we had a nice family and friends dinner out.  Great food and great company!  

                    

We have really enjoyed being here. Family visits, walks on the beach, lots of visits to the dog park. There is certainly not a shortage of things to do and places to eat. 
We will soon be leaving the beach with plans for another short trip back to VA before leaving on our cross country trip.  Weather will be high consideration on when and where we go next. 
It is hard to believe that we are going into our sixth month of living in the RV!  We are comfortable. cozy, and happy!  I’m likin’ this RV life.

Cruising up 89 through Utah

   Wow!!!  is the first word that comes to mind when seeing these beautiful sites.   Before one site settles in, around the next curve comes another.  We spent a night at the Walmart in Page, Utah. It was crazy at the amount of campers staying on the parking lot there! This was the most crowded Walmart we have ever stayed at LOL.   Horseshoe Bend was just a few miles away. It was a breath taking view.  We had a good little walk and it was hot that day but certainly worth the effort.    Next we moved on to Zion National Park.  We stayed in a nice little park in Mt Carmel, just a few miles drive to Zion.  Still one beautiful view after another. On the Road Again…

 After spending some great time with family it has come time to start heading west.  We left a few days ago with a decision to stay basically south to avoid any mountain snow we might run into along the way though that decision came with the risk of the wind, storms and tornados! We spent last night between Oklahoma City and Amarillo. We had a big thunder storm that we were just conscious enough to realize but didn’t seem to bother either of us to be concerned about enough to check things out. After watching the evening news I learned there had been some pretty severe weather.  Today was beautiful traveling. Today’s adventure brought a stop at Bucee’s. If you haven’t been to a Bucee,s it is huge time and money trap …but a lot to see and yes we suckered in and bought some Bucee,s goodies that we didn’t need 😂. Life in Washington

What an adventure it’s been.  It has been awhile since I have posted a blog entry. A lot has taken place since our arrival in Sedro Woolley, Washington. When we arrived here in May the first thing we needed to do was to get our motorhome settled into an a space that will be home until we have a new home. Mission accomplished.  It is taking longer than anticipated getting a home built. Who knew it doesn’t “just happen”!! But we will get there. In the meantime we are comfortable, happy and don’t mind our tiny home. From the time we arrived up until just a few weeks ago, I have not shared much on social media due to the fact that I had an unfortunate health setback and was literally unable to.  I normally don’t share or talk a lot about my health issues but some who know me pretty well are aware that I have been dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis for several years.
